My name is Phyllis Barrett, OT. I am a Certified Small Animal Massage Practioner. I received my certification at Bancroft School of Massage. I worked for 50 years as a licensed occupational therapist, focusing on physical disabilities and pediatrics, and I am certified in human massage and Reiki.
Pets are a part of the family and I wanted to use my years of professional experience to help animals maintain health, increase performance, reduce stress and anxiety and remain functional as they age.
I have seen firsthand, with my service dog and loyal companion Scout, how quickly and effectively massage can help animals enjoy life to their fullest and reach optimum independence.
Shadow was my first service dog for 10 years. He was a dedicated hearing dog and his service was invaluable to me. Shadow passed the year I started my massage business so I named it in his honor.
If your animal has a recent injury, trauma, illness, etc. , see your vet first.
There may be times that massage is not recommended or delayed veterinary attention could undermine your animal's health.
